Define your unique value proposition

Can you describe clearly what your brand represents? Do you still struggle to position your company in the market and finding the right arguments as to why customers should choose you over someone else?

That might be because your value proposition isn’t clearly defined.

Having a unique value proposition is really important for multiple reasons.

1.       It states clearly why you are unique & different from the competitions

2.       It highlights the positive things about you and the benefits you are offering to your customers

3.       It represents the problems you are solving and the needs you are answering

4.       It makes you more recognizable and more memorable

5.       It gives personality to your company and helps you to connect with your audience

Your unique value proposition is a statement that makes it clear you are the right fit for your customers.

In order to define your unique value proposition and build your brand around it, you need to sit down and be really clear about what you are putting out in the world.

Your why & purpose

Why does your business exist? This is one of the most important questions you can ask yourself and need to answer in order to have a successful business.

Reconnect to the essence of why you started your business and what is your purpose with your offer.

An offer that excites you first

Once your why is crystal clear, define an offer that makes sense and responds to your why. Don’t forget to ask yourself a very important question: What excites you? What do you enjoy doing and what do you want to share with the world? Your offer needs to come from a place of joy. Something you truly care about and enjoy doing. You certainly can do a lot of things, or you wouldn’t have started your own business. This doesn’t mean you have to do all the things you can do. Focus on what brings you joy and you will see how customers will be much more attracted to your offerings. Keep it simple.

Then ask yourself which format works best for you. Do you work better 1:1 or in a group session? Do you want to support and give advices or do the work yourself? Be clear about how you want to deliver the content.

Who are your ideal customers

Once your offers are clear and in alignment with your purpose, then spend time understanding who your perfect, ideal customers are.

Get to know your customers like they are your best friends. Understand their pain, their struggles, their needs. That will help you to adapt your communication and really talk about something they are looking for and want in their life.

Competitions

Know what happens out there and don’t be afraid to be different. What makes you special? What do you like or don’t like about your competitors? What sets you apart? Show in a positive way how you can separate yourself from all the other ones.

Branding

When these elements are clear to you, you get to have fun and put your ideas into reality. That will be your visual branding and your brand voice.

How do you want your brand to be perceived? Fun, informative, motivating, inspirational, caring, soft, bold? Your design and the tone of your voice should reflect your brand personality and your unique value proposition.

Implementing your marketing and communication strategy from the beginning will help you have a strong foundation and a strong message.
