2018 Content Marketing Trends with Impact

2018 Content Marketing Trends with Impact

March 14, 2018

This year is going to set a new standard for content marketing. So many new trends are emerging and we want to let you know about them. Below are just a few things that will be showing up on new and upcoming company websites!

Simple and Transparent

This year, 2018 is going to blow your mind with simplicity. Yes, that is right. Bold colors, gradients, big letters and concise content. We have all landed on one of those pages that just has way too much going on and it is immediately overwhelming. What happens next? You click away and go to the next website. This specific trend is aimed at making the consumers more engaged by keeping “the look” of the website intriguing and the information straight to the point and easily accessible. Once the website has these things, the visitors will be even more curious, stay on the site longer and maybe even purchase something! #Goals!

Documented Strategies

It is becoming common knowledge that more and more people do not like chatting over the phone. They would much rather search for their answers and find out all of the information they need online from articles, documents, etc. While this might lead to false information, newer businesses and companies are beginning to upload documents that lay out their business plans, marketing plans among others. This also is a part of being transparent, the first trend we mentioned. Businesses that do not want to go along with this new trend might suffer because they could potentially be “hiding something” from customers. Just something to think about.

More Videos!

Custom animated videos are taking the internet by storm this year. They provide a type of entertainment that is different than a live person in a video. Sometimes when a person acting is not great at portraying the business agenda, the video will not be watched all of the way through. Also, if the quality is off, than a customer will notice immediately and click away. Some of these details might seem trivial, but to consumers it displays how much time and care is put into the details of the company.

Virtual Content

Interactive websites are all the rage in 2018. Not only does it keep the website visitors mentally stimulated, it is extremely aesthetically pleasing. For example, when customers are able to scroll through a clothing website and place a certain article of clothing onto a virtual person, it makes the selection process easier. Being able to visually see how a shirt or a pair of pants will look makes a person more comfortable with buying clothing online or even physically going into the store to pick it up! Implementing a virtual feature on a website can do wonders for a company and will most definitely get more attraction and traffic for the website.

Keep up Distribution

Make sure that marketing is EVERYWHERE! There seems to be more and more places to advertise every year, so keeping up with all of these websites is crucial. Social media platforms are turning into the number one place to distribute business and company info. Depending on the industry the company is in, the best platform to advertise with more is subjective. Either way, distribution of the company and business needs to happen throughout all spaces. This can include outside-of-the-internet methods such as direct mailers, billboards, etc.
